Mervyn is no professional chef and he does not claim to be one. However, he enjoys taking time and effort to prepare meals for his family and friends. He’s just a regular guy so if he can prepare a great meal that looks good, so can you!

A Hainanese boy at heart, Mervyn picked up an interest in cooking from watching his mother in the kitchen when he was a young boy. Since then, he fuels his love for cooking by poring over cookbooks, watching cookshows, experimenting with the best ingredients and from working with like-minded food lovers in his Cook’yn Parties.

To Mervyn, the most important part of cooking a meal is making sure you have the best ingredients you can get your hands on. With fresh and quality ingredients, half the cooking job is done because you only need to do a little to bring out the natural flavours within.

When he is not cooking, Mervyn also enjoys doing triathlons, buying CDs and spending time with his family and little son, Elliot.
